Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, the Alumni was established by former members of the greatest big bands of all time, like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey and The Les Brown Band of Renown, and have since played over 1000 performances.
The Hollywood Club at the historic Woman’s Club of Hollywood has served the Community since 1905 when members built Hollywood’s first public library, and their outdoor music recitals morphed into the Hollywood Bowl. Today the club assists Veterans, foster and adoptive children, and Autistic Teenagers through the Jeffrey Foundation’s program for mothers of Special Needs Children. In addition to preserving the club’s own Historic property, the club helps preserve other Historic Hollywood buildings.
Additionally, the Club offers a variety of social, informative and fun events to members and the community, such as Yoga Classes, AA group meetings, Coffee networking Mornings, writers’ workshops, performers’ workshops, historic preservation classes, Silent Movie Nights, Historic Hollywood events with special speakers, and fabulous Fundraising evenings of entertainment such as the May 11th Gala.
